FIELD PARTY / Stands 10 ft tall and is anchored into a slab of Vermont Marble. The bright, abstract form stands out among the muted natural colors of the starkly intriguing wooded and raw landscape of the surrounding quarries, piles of marble, deteriorating buildings and rusted machinery. The 750lb slab of marble from the quarry is the foundation in which this sculpture stands, sparkles, and elicits joy and renewal. The combination of age-old marble and the newly constructed and painted "Field Party" represents a relationship between old and new.
